the hole placement is very important to how the chime rings. any material any length there is a “sweet spot” called a node. that spot wont vibrate when the chime is struck. the node is at 22.3% of the length of the pipe or rod. thats where you make the hanging hole and it will ring like a bell.

nice video, learned a lot, such as; I didn’t know that the hole placement was just as important as the length of the pipes. Made wind chimes once with pipes from the hardware store. Turned out nice, but with this video I think a can now make them sound nicer. Thank you
